Michele had a doctor's appointment yesterday. The Cancer is now Stage 4. She will begin Radiation this week and Chemotherapy next week. Please pray for our dear friend. As the Fundraiser events continue to be planned, I will keep everyone updated.
Michele spoke with the Social Security/Disability this week. There was some good news and some bad news. It looks like she will be receiving Medicaid in two weeks to a month. She also qualified for Social Security Income of $1100 starting January 1, 2010. Here is the kicker. Michele will stop receive Medicaid starting January 1, 2010. The representative from SSC said that once an individual starts receiving SS Income, that Medicaid will go away and that individual has to wait 2 years before Medicare kicks back in. They are contacting Medicaid to verify this because it sounds so ludicrous.
